Itinerary

Day 1 – Montreal, Canada

Board your ship in Montreal, nestled on an island on the St. Lawrence River. You will have the afternoon free to settle in to your ship or set off to explore the city on your own, perhaps going underground to experience its subterranean city, popular with residents during cold winter months.

Day 2 – Montreal, Canada

Today you will continue to explore Montreal. Step into the citys rich history of fur trading in its Old Port section, lined with picturesque stone buildings along the St. Lawrence River. Ascend to the heights of Mount Royal Park for sweeping city and river views. And marvel at the glorious architecture and interiors of the Notre Dame Basilica. Alternately, you might venture farther to witness the natural beauty of the Laurentian Mountains or sample the regions maple sugar delicacies.

Day 3 – Quebec City, Canada

Visit the grand dame of Quebec province today, the venerable Quebec City, a European-style gem on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. As you explore its cobblestone streets, you will take in its decidedly regal air, crowned by the magnificent Chteau Frontenac. You will see the Place Royale, the Upper and Lower Old Towns lined with distinctive white stone buildings dating to the early 17th century, and the Parliament. Or discover the provinces natural beauty at Montmorency Falls and Canyon Sainte-Anne.

Day 4 – Saguenay, Canada

Discover the history of Saguenay today, a once-disparate region of boroughs established as one city as recently as 2002. Built on a rich fur-trading and timber industry, it is a quintessential Quebecois town proud of its rural roots. You can witness the story of its growth during a lively stage show created specifically for English-speaking visitors. Alternately, you can head into the countryside to visit two family businesses that embody the regions French heritage with their cheese and wine production.

Day 5 – Scenic Cruising: St. Lawrence Seaway

Today you will make your way down the St. Lawrence River, an important waterway that allows vessels to travel from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes of the Midwest. As you sail, you might attend an illuminating enrichment lecture in the theater. This evening, enjoy cocktails with new friends in the Explorers Lounge.

Day 6 – Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Discover the rich Scottish heritage of Prince Edward Island, known as the Garden of the Gulf for its prolific farms and rolling countryside that turns all colors in the fall. During your visit, you are invited to join a lively traditional ceilidh, or kitchen party, where musicians strike up ancestral songs. Amid the revelry, you can sample fresh locally sourced oysters, mussels and clams. Or, you might take a scenic drive to tour the farmhouse that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery to penAnne of Green Gables.

Day 7 Scenic Cruising: St. Lawrence Seaway

Enjoy the day cruising to your next destination, taking advantage of your ships generous amenities. Perhaps you will swim in the Infinity Pool or mingle with newfound friends over tea in the Wintergarden. This evening, enjoy soft piano music in the Living Room or lively jazz in Torshavn.

Day 8 – Cruise the Nova Scotia Coast

Sail along the scenic coasts of Nova Scotia and Maine, crossing the Bay of Fundy. As you cruise, you might grab a workout in the Fitness Center or indulge in a facial or manicure in The Salon. This evening, perhaps you will dine on a regional favorite such as New England clam chowder or boiled lobster.

Day 9 – St. John, Canada

The oldest city in Canada, St. John is located along the scenic shores of the Bay of Fundy. Discover this port citys colorful past, then learn how its rich traditions, such as lobster fishing, remain relevant today. Travel to the village of St. Martins, once one of the biggest producers of wooden sailing ships in the Canadian Maritimes, and set sail into the bay in search of whales and other wildlife.

Day 10 – Bar Harbor, United States

Set out for Bar Harbor to admire the dense forests, glacier-carved mountains and rugged coastlines that make up Acadia National Park. Embark on a scenic drive along the shore and listen to stories of the parks heyday as a playground for the Gilded Age elite. Discover the secrets to cooking an iconic Maine chowder, or take to the water for a scenic cruise around Frenchmans Bay.

Day 11 – Portland, United States

Call on Portland today and explore its historic districts that are brimming with charm. Visit Maines oldest lighthouse; a climb to the top will reward you with spectacular views. Or discover why Portlands maritime history became the inspiration for the works of one of Americas greatest painters, Winslow Homer.

Day 12 – Newport, United States

One of the United States oldest cities, Newport retains much of its colonial charm and Gilded Age splendor. Stroll past the well-preserved buildings that populate the citys historic district. Or take a drive along Bellevue Avenue, home to the opulent mansions of wealthy 19th-century industrialists. Experience the citys rich maritime tradition during a cruise on an Americas Cup racing yacht.

Day 13-14 – Cruise the Atlantic Ocean

As we sail the Atlantic toward Miami, enjoy a day indulging in the amenities of your ship. You might find your inner calm with yoga on the Sports Deck. Lounge by the Main Pool with its retractable roof and enjoy a cocktail at the Aquavit Bar. After an al fresco dinner at the World Caf, settle in for some light jazz and a nightcap at Torshavn.
