Day 1
UK-Washington DC

After taking Saga’s included UK door-to-door travel service to the airport, depart on your flight to Washington DC. Transfer to the Comfort Inn Downtown DC (3Q) for a three-night stay. D

Day 2
Washington DC

This morning an included guided tour explores Washington DC, passing the White House and the Washington Monument. Some of the boulevards and public spaces designed by Pierre Charles L’Enfant echo the style of cities in his French homeland. You’re free to explore independently this afternoon. B

Day 3
Washington DC

Explore independently – the Smithsonian Museums are well worth a visit. B

Day 4
Washington DC-Lancaster, Philadelphia

Lancaster County, to the west of Philadelphia, is home to America’s oldest Amish settlement, where people live a centuries-old ‘Plain’ lifestyle. A tour is included this morning, giving you an insight into their way of life, and you may also like to take an optional ride in an Amish buggy. Afterwards, continue to Philadelphia where you stay for two nights at the Wyndham Historic District Hotel (3Q). B

Day 5

Philadelphia was the original capital of the USA and where, in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was presented to the public. Enjoy a city tour to see the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Franklin Institute and perhaps be surprised at the futuristic Comcast Centre. Stop at the famous Reading Terminal Market and perhaps spend your lunch voucher on a traditional Philly Steak Sandwich. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Eastern State Penitentiary to see the cell in which gangster Al Capone was imprisoned. B, L

Day 6

Enjoy a city tour. Stop at the Reading Terminal Market. Afterwards, visit the Eastern State Penitentiary. Stay two nights at the Wyndham Historic District Hotel (3Q) or at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel (3Q) on May 18, 2018 departures. B

Day 7
Newport Rhode Island

Look forward today tovisiting the summer playground of America’s wealthiest families – Newport – where their opulent mansions offer a fascinating glimpse into the ‘Gilded Age’ of American social history. Tour ‘The Breakers’, the Vanderbilt family’s summer ‘cottage’ – something of an understatement for this lavish Italian Renaissance-style residence! B

Day 8
Mystic-New York

This morning, travel to New York where, on arrival you’ll take a guided sightseeing tour past the Empire State Building, Central Park, The Rockefeller Centre and along Wall Street. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Midtown West (3Q) for two nights. B

Day 9
New York

Enjoy a Bateaux sightseeing cruise with lunch today and take in over 101 city sights from the water, including the Statue of Liberty, Harlem, Ellis Island, Wall Street and Brooklyn Bridge. You have the rest of the day free – perhaps visit world famous department stores, or head to laid-back Greenwich Village. B, L

Day 10
New York-Boston

Travel north to Boston for two nights at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel Back Bay Boston (3Q). On arrival there’s an included city tour of Boston and Cambridge, founded by Puritan colonists in the 17th century. B

Day 11

Today’s highlight is an included guided tour of Salem, famous for the witch trials of 1692. Discover the town’s charm, maritime history and historic sites, including the Witch Trial Memorial and the Old Burying Point Cemetery. B, D

Day 12

Enjoy a free morning in Boston. This afternoon, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK. B
