UK to Marrakech
Fly to Marrakech and travel into the Atlas Mountains for a two-night stay at La Roseraie (3Q+). Featuring traditional Morrocan décor, this hotel is set amid rose gardens and lemon groves, in the heart of the mountains. D

Marrakech souks and Djemma el Fna
Stay three nights at the Es Saadi Gardens and Resort (5Q), located in the city’s most exclusive district. Take an included leisurely walking tour of the souks and visit the world-famous Djemaa el Fna as the sun sets. B, D
On today’s included morning tour visit the Koutoubia Minaret, the Kasbah fortress and the 16th-century Saladin Tombs. Continue to El Badi Palace ruins, then the Bahia Palace. The afternoon is at leisure. B, D
You may take an optional tour of the gardens of Marrakech by horse-drawn carriage, stopping to stroll in the Majorelle botanical gardens, once owned by the late designer Yves St Laurent. B, D

This delightful tour by horse-drawn carriage travels alongside the old city’s ramparts, taking you to the Majorelle botanical gardens, created in the 1920s by the French painter Jacques Majorelle and since 1980 owned by the late fashion designer Yves St Laurent and his co-founder Pierre Bergé.
You return by horse-drawn carriage.
Marrakech to Essaouira
Travel through orchards and plains to Essaouira, a beautiful whitewashed medina town on the Atlantic coast, where you stay for two nights at the Hotel Dar L’oussia (3Q). This traditional riad-style hotel is situated within the town walls of the medina. Stop en route at an argan co-operative. Take a walking tour of Essaouira this afternoon, exploring the medina, historic harbour and the markets, all within easy reach of the hotel. B, D
Perhaps stroll on the beach and promenade just two minutes from the hotel, visit the souks and markets, or a cafe in the main square. You can join optional excursions to the Val d’Argan wine estate for wine tasting and lunch, or you can try your hand at creating authentic Moroccan cuisine at a cooking school. B, D
Val d’Argan wine estate |Half day
Established in 1994, this family-run estate spans 30 acres and produces red, white and rose wines. Enjoy a tour of the winery before sampling a few of the vintages. Lunch is also included at the estate.
