Itinerary

Day 1 Nottingham

Titans VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Nottingham. We aim for you to arrive at the hotel between 4pm and 5pm, where the rest of the day is free to settle in.

Day 2 Bakewell – Chatsworth House

Well head into the Peak District National Park and our first stop is Bakewell. Best known for delicious Bakewell Pudding, thought to have been created accidentally in the 19th century, the market town is a lovely to explore. Well have time to freely wander through quaint courtyards and over the River Wye across the medieval bridge. Or maybe spend your time indulging in a slice of the famous pudding – do you need an excuse? Later, we visit Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and one of the countrys grandest stately homes. Its most famous for its magnificent art collection, displayed within the ornately decorated rooms, and the extensive gardens designed by Capability Brown – an excellent place for a stroll.

Day 3 Calke Abbey

Today we visit Calke Abbey, an unusual Grade I country house in Derbyshire. Originally the site of a medieval priory, the current neo-classical mansion was built in the early 18th century. Explore the house, to see displays of treasures collected by the eccentric family who resided here. Then wander through the walled kitchen gardens and the Orangery for a glimpse into their outdoor life. On our return to the hotel, youll enjoy free time to explore Nottinghams attractions independently.

Day 4 Crich Tramway Village – Peak Railway

We step back in time today on a visit to the wonderful Crich Tramway Village. Walk along recreated early 20th-century streets, lined with reconstructed period buildings. Ride the lovingly restored trams or call in at the tearooms, old-fashioned sweet shop or Edwardian pub. The exhibition takes you through a hundred years of tramway development, from 1860-1960, with trams powered by horse, steam and electricity. Continuing with a theme of vintage transportation, we also enjoy a return steam (or diesel) train journey on the restored Peak Railway. This nostalgic four-mile track between Rowsley South and Matlock is a reopened section of the former Midland Railway, which extended from London to Manchester until 1968.

Day 5 Nottingham

Following breakfast, youll be collected at 10am by your Titan vehicle for the journey home.
