Day 1

After taking Saga’s included UK door-to-door travel service to the airport, fly to Montreal. Spend two nights at the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain (4Q) or the Delta Montreal (4Q).

Day 2

Discover the European flavour of French-speaking Montreal with an included tour to see the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours and the Seminary of Saint-Sulpice. B

Day 3
Montreal to Quebec City

Visit Chez Dany Sugar Shack for a hearty Canadian lunch and the chance to sample some fresh maple syrup. Continue to Quebec City for two nights at Chateau Laurier (4Q). B, L

Day 4
Quebec City

Embark on a tour of Quebec City to see Parliament Hill and the Plains of Abraham, where a pivotal battle between the French and British in 1759 decided Canada’s future. B

Day 5
Quebec City to Edmundston

Depart Quebec for the city of Edmundston. The town lies in the valley of the St John river and is surrounded by rolling hills and woodland. Spend the night at the Four Points by Sheraton Edmundston (3Q). B

Day 6
Edmundston to St Andrews by-the-Sea

Travel to this charming fishing village. Spend two nights at the Algonquin Resort (4Q). B

Day 7
St Andrews by-the-Sea

Take to the waters of the Bay of Fundy in search of wildlife on an included boat trip. The bay attracts a number of whale species, including beluga, humpback and minke, as well as seals, porpoises, eagles, puffin and osprey. Sightings can’t be guaranteed. B

Day 8
St Andrews by-the-Sea to Moncton via Hopewell Rocks

Head to Hopewell Cape to observe the world’s highest tidal rise and fall. It has created some rather unique rock formations which you may be able to see both at high and low tide. Continue to Moncton, then embark on an included evening cruise complete with a delicious lobster dinner. Stay overnight at the Delta Beauséjeur (3Q). B, D

Day 9
Moncton to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Travel to Prince Edward Island, a pastoral idyll and shared home to Anne of Green Gables and the Prince Edward potato. You spend the next two nights in Charlottetown at the Holman Grand Hotel (3Q) or the Rodd Charlottetown (3Q). B

Day 10

Visit the Cavendish National Historic Sight where you can learn about the island’s celebrated author, Lucy Maud Montgomery, to see locations from her beloved books. Move on to Prince Edward Island National Park, home to protected beaches, dunes, saltmarsh and wetland. B

Day 11
Charlottetown to Baddeck, Cape Breton Island

Make the journey to Cape Breton Island, once home to prolific inventor and famously eloquent Scotsman Alexander Graham Bell. Pay a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum to learn about his immense contributions to the world of science and technology. Spend the next two nights at the Silver Dart Lodge (3Q). B

Day 12
Baddeck and the Cabot Trail

This morning take an included drive along the Cabot Trail through the rugged Cape Breton Highlands National Park and enjoy stunning views across the ocean. B

Day 13
Baddeck to Halifax

Depart Cape Breton Island for the Nova Scotian mainland and head for the provincial capital of Halifax. En route visit Sherbrooke Historic Village for a taste of rural life in the 19th century. After this you take a tour of Halifax and see the vast citadel which has defended the harbour since 1856. Stay overnight at the Westin Nova Scotian (4Q). B

Day 14

Head west to Peggy’s Cove, a fishing village with an iconic lighthouse dating back to 1868. Spend some time exploring before returning to Halifax where you’ll be treated to a farewell dinner. Later on transfer to the airport for your return overnight flight to the UK. B, D

Land in the UK and take your included UK door-to-door travel service home.
