Day 1

UK to Lausanne

You’ll depart from London St Pancras and journey to Paris
changing trains for the journey to Lausanne. Perhaps begin your
holiday with a boat trip on the lake or visit the city’s impressive
Gothic Cathedral.

Lausanne

Day 2

Discover Lausanne

Take a stroll around the medieval labyrinth of Lausanne’s Old
Town with its historical buildings and cobbled streets. Perhaps
follow this with a stroll to the Upper Town to see the Cathedral of
Lausanne. Later pay a visit to Ouchy; the port and resort area of
Lausanne with its beautiful lakeside walks and quay-side flower
gardens.

Lausanne to Rome

Today, depart Lausanne for Milan where you’ll change trains for
the journey onwards to Rome. You can explore Rome’s rich history up
close at the city’s ancient sites, discover the secrets of Rome’s
holy landmarks, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere of the
bustling street life.

Day 4

Historic Rome

Relive the glory days of the Roman Empire with a visit to the
Roman Forum which was for centuries the hub of daily life in
ancient Rome. Follow this with a visit to one of Rome’s most
celebrated landmarks – the mighty Colosseum. The biggest
amphitheatre in the world has witnessed horror, passion and
excitement as home to the infamous gladiatorial fights.

Day 5

Enchanting Rome

Take a guided tour of the Vatican, including the Vatican
museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. Whatever your
religious beliefs, you cannot fail to be touched by the splendour
and history of this most holy site.

Lucerne

Day 6

Rome to Lucerne

Depart Rome and head to Milan where you’ll change for the
journey to Lucerne. Situated on the edge of Lake Lucerne and
surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, Lucerne has been a popular
with visitors, including writers, composers and royalty for
hundreds of years.

Eurostar

Day 7

Lucerne to UK

Today you’ll leave Lucerne and travel to Paris, via Basel,
before changing for your return train to the UK.
