Itinerary (Suggested)

Day 1 – Arrive Melbourne

On arrival in Melbourne you will be transferred by private car to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore.

Day 2 – Melbourne

A morning sightseeing tour will introduce you to the sights of Melbourne. Cross the West Gate Bridge for amazing city views. See Bourke Street Mall, tree-lined Collins Street, Federation Square and the spectacular Royal Botanic Gardens. The afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 3 – Melbourne – Apollo Bay (114 miles)

Collect your car and head for the Great Ocean Road. This magnificent road offers some of the most spectacular coastal views in Australia. Travel past famous Bells Beach and enjoy the scenery as you pass wide beaches, dramatic cliffs and idyllic coves.

Day 4 – Apollo Bay – Free Day

The day is free for you to explore Apollo Bay, set on the coast with excellent surfing and swimming beaches and the Otway Ranges as a backdrop.

Day 5 – Apollo Bay – Port Fairy (118 miles)

After crossing the spectacular Otway Ranges, youll arrive at Port Campbell National Park, an area of immense beauty. See the power of the ocean at work at the Twelve Apostles, a row of great stone pillars and the most spectacular landmark on the Victorian coastline. See the remains of London Bridge. Travel past Warrnambool, arriving at the historic fishing village of Port Fairy this afternoon

Day 6 – Port Fairy – Free Day

The day is free to explore this former whaling port located at the estuary of the Moyne River. Port Fairy is a holiday resort bordered by both river and ocean and is home to a large fishing fleet.

Day 7 – Port Fairy – Coonawarra (140 Miles)

Travel west from Port Fairy towards the South Australian border and up the Limestone Coast to the Coonawarra wine district where there are fine vineyards to explore.

Day 8 – Coonawarra

A free day to explore Coonawarra and the surrounding area famous for its premium wines. Together, the landscape, people and passion work in harmony to create a signature wine region that delivers on a myriad of levels. The cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Riesling have made Coonawarra one of the New Worlds greatest appellations.

Day 9 – Coonawarra – Adelaide (240 miles)

Head towards Adelaide today, travelling via Keith, Murrays Bridge enroute to Adelaide and check into your hotel. Return your car to the Hertz city office.

Day 10 – Adelaide Sightseeing

Adelaide is a captivating city, a city of churches and the food and wine capital of Australia, with sandstone homes and cottages with sweeping gardens; a young Australian city, rich in recent history yet charmingly modern and with a passion for fine living. Youll see all the sights on this tour before having time to explore on your own. Perhaps youll visit Trinity Church, the Adelaide Oval one of Australias most notable cricket grounds or the trendy shops and restaurants on OConnell Street; maybe stroll along the garden banks of the River Torrens, or visit quirky Hutt Street.

Day 11 – Depart Adelaide

Transfer to the airport.
