Itinerary

Day 1
UK to Luxembourg to Merzig

Fly to Luxembourg and transfer to Merzig to embark Regina Rheni II. Set sail as you enjoy your welcome dinner on board.

Day 2
Trier to Schweich-Bernkastel

Cruise to Trier, where you enjoy an included tour of this ancient city, the oldest in Germany. See the Porta Nigra – one of the best-preserved Roman city gates in the world. There’s also a beautiful cathedral and market square to be explored here. Your ship continues to Schweich where you rejoin her and spend the rest of the afternoon cruising to Bernkastel, arriving tonight.

Day 3
Bernkastel to Cochem

The sloping market square, with its 17th-century fountain and medieval houses, makes Bernkastel a delight to explore. Among the vines above the town stand the ruins of Landshut Castle, the one-time seat of the Bishops of Trier. You spend the afternoon cruising towards Cochem and moor there overnight.

Day 4
Cochem to Koblenz

Set on the banks of the Moselle with its sweeping vine-clad bends and wooded hills, Cochem is a classic wine town. During your visit you’ll have time to explore the castle and enjoy a wine tasting on an optional excursion. Continue cruising towards Koblenz in the afternoon, arriving after dinner.

Day 5
Koblenz to Rüdesheim

Spend the morning in Koblenz, located at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle, then cruise past Lorelei Rock en route to the wine town of Rüdesheim. Set on the Rhine’s east bank one of it’s most popular places to visit is the charming alleyway known as the Drosselgasse, lined with wine taverns! Perhaps join an optional visit to Siegfried’s Museum of Mechanical Music. Set sail again and cruise overnight towards Miltenberg.

Day 6
Miltenberg

Explore timeworn Miltenberg independently this afternoon, including the 17th-century wine tavern of the famous marketplace known as the Weinhaus am alten Markt. The old town, enclosed within ancient walls and gates, is home to charming streets of half-timbered houses. Sail towards Würzburg this evening.

Day 7
Würzburg

Bamberg

Arrive in the afternoon and explore atmospheric Bamberg, said to be the best-preserved medieval town in Germany. You may like to independently visit the famous Imperial Cathedral on Cathedral Hill or Altenburg Castle at the town’s highest point. Look forward to a farewell dinner on board as the ship sets sail again this evening.

Day 9
Nuremberg to UK

Disembark Regina Rheni II after breakfast and transfer to Munich airport for your return flight to the UK.
