Day 6

Arrive in Passau shortly after breakfast. Enjoy the morning exploring the ‘Venice of Bavaria’, set at the meeting point of three rivers – the Danube, Inn and Ilz, and surrounded by wooded hills. Or, to make the most of your visit why not join an optional city walk and hear the history of this attractive town? Filia Rheni ll departs at lunchtime and cruises through the night from Germany, right across Austria and into Slovakia.

Day 7

This afternoon you arrive in Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava. Spend an enjoyable afternoon exploring the city’s old quarter, overlooked by the massive rectangular castle, and admiring the attractive Hapsburg architecture. Set sail again in the early hours.

Day 8

Esztergom is perhaps the most beautiful of the cluster of small towns on the Danube Bend, and home to Hungary’s largest basilica, the dome of which can be seen for miles around. Day 9

Today you arrive in Kalocsa during breakfast, giving you the morning to explore the picturesque town founded by Hungary’s first king, St Stephen, on the Great Hungarian Plain. Cruise to Budapest this afternoon, arriving late tonight.

Day 10

Awake in Budapest for a full day and overnight stay. This cosmopolitan city is divided by the Danube into Buda and Pest.
