Day 1 UK to Cairo

Meet your fellow travellers at the airport and fly to Cairo and transfer to the locally rated 5-starPyramisa Hotel, for a three-night stay. Tonight, look forward to a welcome drink and dinner where you can get to know your travelling companions. D

Day 2 Cairo

An included city tour this morning reveals some of Cairos highlights, including the citys fascinating Citadel, which was home to Egypts rulers for seven centuries after its creation in the 12th century. Today the site is home to numerous mosques and palaces that dominate the citys skyline and illustrate how it has evolved throughout history.

Youll return to your hotel in time for some lunch before this afternoons visit to Egypts icons the Sphinx and the Pyramids. These landmarks have become synonymous with Egypt, and the history of their construction will mesmerise you as much as the sight of them. Youll also visit the Khufu Ship, an ancient solar boat which was discovered in a pit in the Giza pyramid complex and carefully reconstructed. It is thought to be one of the largest, oldest and best preserved example of an Antiquity-age vessel, and this solar barge is believed to have been used as either a ritual vessel to carry the resurrected king across the heavens, or as a funeral barge to carry the embalmed king to Giza. Day 3 Cairo

Spend the day at your leisure, perhaps joining an optional morning tour to The Grand Egyptian Museum. B, L, D

Day 4 Cairo to Luxor

After breakfast, travel to the airport for your morning flight to Luxor and transfer to the locally rated 3-starPyramisa Isis Luxor, where you stay overnight.

This afternoon there will be an included tour to the temples of Karnak, an incredible site comprising three main temples and seven smaller ones, which is believed to cover the entire site of the ancient city of Thebes. B, L, D

Day 5 Luxor

Transfer from your hotel to the elegantMS Nile Odyssey4, one of Presidential Nile Cruises fleet of ships, and your home for the next four nights as you cruise the Nile. There will be an included visit to Luxors west bank this morning home to the Valley of the Kings, where an incredible 62 tombs of the Pharaohs have been unearthed.

Spend the afternoon at leisure on board your ship, and this evening perhaps join an optional sound and light show. Youll remain moored in Luxor overnight. B, L, D

Day 6 Luxor to Edfu

Sit back and admire the passing scenery as your ship heads to Edfu at noon. The scenery along the Nile varies between rural beauty and ancient architecture, so be sure to keep your camera handy. Youll arrive in Edfu where youll moor overnight. B, L, D

Day 7 Edfu to Kom Ombo

Today you cruise to Kom Ombo, where Kom Ombo Temple one of the most spectacular temples in Egypt is located. This temple is particularly unusual as it is dedicated to two gods, Haroeris and Sobek. This evening you can socialise with your fellow guests on board, or enjoy the night sky from the ships Sun Deck. Remain moored here overnight. B, L, D

Day 8 Aswan High Dam and the Philae Temple

This morning you visit Aswan High Dam and the Philae Temple complex, which was painstakingly recreated on a new site after it’s original site was deluged by Lake Nasser. After some time soaking up the history here, youll head to Elephantine Island where youll see Nubian villages and soak up more history thanks to the variety of archaeological sites here. Youll return to your ship, where you can share your adventures with guests on board and make the most of the ships facilities. Youll moor in Aswan overnight. B, L, D

Day 9 Aswan

Today you disembark your ship in Aswan and transfer to the locally rated 5-starPyramisa Isis Island Hotel, where you stay for the remaining two nights of your tour. Youll spend the rest of the day at leisure the perfect excuse to relax and make the most of the hotels excellent facilities. B, L, D
