Explore the natural beauty of the Canary Islands, the Azores and Madeira on an unforgettable expedition cruise. Sailing from exotic Cape Verde, discover highlights like stunning La Palma, the remote beaches of Porto Santo and the verdant landscape of the Azores. Our expert Expedition Team will share their knowledge and lead the way as we explore a marvelous mix of cities, islands and natural wonders.


Day 1-2 Palmeira, Cape Verde

The adventure begins with an overnight in port at exotic Palmeira in Cape Verde. At midday the next day, our expedition ship sets sail towards the famed Canary Islands.

Day 3-4 At Sea

While you relax at sea and enjoy all the amenities of our expedition ship, the experts on our Expedition Team will prepare you for the adventures to come with a series of fascinating lectures.

Day 5 Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands

La Palma is known to the Spanish as Isla bonita (the pretty island) because of its incredible landscapes. The Island was in 2002 declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
Enjoy strolling through the lovely old town in the islands capital, filled with maritime atmosphere or discover some of La Palmas hiking trails, welcoming beaches or prehistoric forest.

Day 6-7 Funchal, Madeira

We arrive in Funchal in the evening and will stay overnight to enjoy a full day in port.
Funchal is a modern, cosmopolitan city that offers inviting cafs, interesting shops, cobblestone streets and a magnificent natural setting.

Day 8 Porto Santo

Enjoy a visit to the golden beaches of Porto Santo. The rugged interior of Porto Santo is perfect for exciting excursions, and has much to offer history buffs. After all, a little-known explorer named Christopher Columbus made his home on the islands capital: Vila Baleira.

Day 9 At sea

The day is yours. Relax on deck or indoors, learn more from our lecture series, and compare impressions with your fellow explorers as we sail towards the Azores.

Day 10 Angra do Herosimo, Terceira

Visit lovely and historic Angra do Herosmo on Terceira Island. Angra was founded in the15thcentury, prospering from its location as an ideal trading port.

Day 11 Horta, Faial

Colours on this island are not confined to green vegetation, blue sea and white houses. The breakwater is covered in murals and paintings, thanks to a local tradition that holds that good luck will follow sailors who leave their mark here before setting off across the Atlantic.

Day 12 Ponta Delgada, So Miguel

Known as the green island, So Miguel is the largest of the nine islands, studded with lakes and rolling hills, mountains and green plains. The capital is the charming university town of Ponta Delgada.

Day 13-14 At sea

We sail for Portugals mainland. Our lecturers will have many interesting presentations to put your trip in perspective. Enjoy a final chance to relax and reflect with new friends about the adventures of the past weeks.

Day 15 Lisbon

Early risers will be rewarded with a lovely view of Lisbon as we cruise up the Tejo river, ending our journey in the capital of Portugal.
