With highlights dotted along the sparkling Adriatic, Croatia offers historical discovery and seaside scenery in abundance. Early in this wide-ranging tour we head inland to explore the pretty streets and squares of its compact capital, Zagreb. We witness the natural beauty of the emerald Plitvice Lakes. We tour ibeniks incredible limestone-and-marble domed cathedral. And finally we head for the exquisite old town of Dubrovnik, with its white-stone buildings and red-tiled roofs set against the ink-blue sea.

Itinerary

Day 1 UK – Pula – Opatija

Titans VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Pula. On arrival well begin our transfer to Opatija.

Day 2 Opatija

Opatija is a fashionable holiday resort that has welcomed many famous personalities, including central European aristocracy, Puccini, Chekhov and James Joyce. Today is free to explore it yourself, Take a dip in the picturesque bays or enjoy the streets of Opatija and neighbouring Volosko, a pretty fishing village just a short walk along the 12-kilometre promenade with mountain views across the Adriatic.

Day 3 Zagreb

We journey to Zagreb, Croatias capital. On a guided walking tour this afternoon, well get acquainted us with this magnificent city. At its heart is Bana Josip Jelacica Square which divides Donji Grad (Lower Town) and Gornji Grad (Upper Town). With streets made for strolling, there are numerous museums and parks to aim for, and Dolac Market will give you a true taste of Zagreb.

Day 4 Plitvice Lakes – Zadar

We travel south to one of the treasures of the Balkan Peninsula – the UNESCO-protected Plitvice Lakes National Park. We wend our way along boardwalks that criss-cross a series of 16 lakes linked by beautiful waterfalls, all surrounded by peaceful woodland thats home to numerous birds and mammals. Later, after a journey through dramatic mountain ranges, we arrive at the central Dalmatian town of Zadar, situated on a sheltered peninsula with a picturesque harbour. The city is decorated with Romanesque and Byzantine buildings which bear testimony to Zadars colourful past.

Day 5 ibenik – Solin

We continue our journey south to visit ibenik, a town built by Croatian Kings. We enjoy a guided tour through its characteristic maze of winding streets and enter the cathedral. Built in the 15th century and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cathedral is an elaborate mix of styles, including a dome inspired by Brunelleschis in Florence. We continue to Solin arriving late afternoon.

Day 6 Split

Discover Splits historic heart, located within the walls of Diocletians Palace, on a guided tour. As its name suggests, the Roman Emperor Diocletian who was born in Solin, built the Palace in the 3rd century AD, a combination of an Imperial Villa and Roman stronghold that forms one of the worlds most impressive Roman monuments. Through the centuries and under various rulers, including the Byzantines, Venetians and Austro-Hungarians, a city blossomed within the grounds of this World Heritage Site. Youre free for the rest of the afternoon.

Day 7 Ston – Cavtat

We make a stop in medieval Ston, encapsulated by impressive defensive walls, en route to our last hotel, a short distance from the centre of Dubrovnik.

Day 8 Dubrovnik

Discover Dubrovnik on a guided walking tour of the city. Visit the 15th-century Rectors Palace and Cathedral, followed by free time to explore the pedestrianised Old Town, an aspect of the city that has earned Dubrovnik UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

Day 9 Cavtat

Youre at leisure today. Perhaps return to the Old Town to walk along the wall for fantastic views and access to its four fortresses; take the cable car to the top of Mount Srd; or take an optional excursion to Kotor in Montenegro, a labyrinth of old alleyways surrounded by incredible scenery.

Day 10 Dubrovnik – UK

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
