Day 1 UK to Corfu

Fly to Corfu and transfer to the locally rated 5-starMarBella Corfu(5Q), nestled on Corfus beautiful east coast, for a three-night stay. Enjoy a welcome drinks reception where you can get to know your fellow travellers. D

Day 2 Corfu

Today embark on a panoramic tour of the island of Corfu. Begin at Kanoni, a lush hill from where you can enjoy beautiful views of iconic Mouse Island, then visit Achilleion Palace, the imperial villa of Empress Sisi of Bavaria. The palace is devoted to the Greek hero, Achilles, and the style of the building and grounds reflects her love of Classical Greece. This afternoon is free to spend at leisure. B, L, D

Day 3 Corfu

Look forward to a guided tour of Corfu Town this morning.

Begin your tour with a visit to Mon Repos Palace, a beautiful villa used as a summer residence by the royal families of Greece, and best known as the birthplace of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Today the villa houses a museum dedicated to Ionian treasures. Enjoy a walk in the charming grounds then continue to Patounis Soap Factory in the old town. Founded in 1891, the family-run business specialises in handmade soap from locally produced olive oil using traditional methods.

From here, take guided walking tour through the old town to see its cathedral and historic buildings influenced by the Venetians, then enjoy free time for independent exploration. Return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure. B, L, D

Day 4 Corfu to Syvota

Today, depart Corfu and take a scenic ferry trip to the Greek mainland. Here, transfer to the locally rated 5-starMarBella Elix(5Q) in Syvota, where youll stay for seven nights. This traditional Greek town lies on the coast of north-west Greece, on the Riviera of Epirus. Backed by forested mountains, the region boats idyllic beaches, secluded bays, and history that goes back to ancient times. B, L, D

Day 5 Syvota

Join a full day guided tour of the west coast region of Greece, surrounding Syvota.

Begin in the Roman city of Nicopolis, built in 29BC by Caesar Augustus in commemoration of his victory over Antony and Cleopatra of Egypt at the nearby Battle of Actium. Within the archaeological site youll see beautiful mosaics, as well as an odean, water tower and the remains of a fortress.

After a guided tour of the site, and visit to the museum, continue to Preveza. This beautiful port city lies sandwiched between the Ambracian Gulf and the Ionian Sea, and is sure to charm you with its yacht-filled marina, sandy beaches, sunny promenade and meze bars. Enjoy free time to stroll through the pedestrianised centre, perhaps pausing for coffee at one of the many cafes. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. B, L, D

Day 6 Syvota

Today is free to spend at leisure, or alternatively, you could join an optional excursion touring the UNESCO-listed hanging monasteries of Meteora. B, L, D

Look forward to spending a whole day exploring the beautiful and charming city of Ioannina.

En route pause in Dodona, the site of an ancient oracle of Zeus, where travellers would come to speak to the chief of all the gods. Your tour continues to Ioannina and the famous Parnvotis Lake where an island in the middle houses an ancient Byzantine monastery which was the last refuge of the notorious Ottoman lord, Ali Pasha. Visit a museum dedicated to him then return to the mainland to explore the old walled town and castle. Built in 528 AD and one of the oldest surviving Byzantine castles, it was once the largest administrative centre in the whole of Greece and the site where the great minds of Tou Genous delivered their lessons and chieftains studied the art of war. Complete your guided tour with a visit to the Silversmiths Museum before returning to your hotel. B, L, D

Day 8 Syvota

Enjoy a day at leisure. The hotel offers a wide range of activities for lovers of the outdoors (for an additional charge), including sailing lessons, kayaking trips, guided hikes and mountain biking. Alternatively, soak up the sun on the white sands of Karavostasi beach on the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian sea, which lie temptingly below the hotel. B, L, D
