ItineraryDay 1 UK – BaselTitans VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your flight to Basel. Upon arrival, embark our ship, where light refreshments are available. Day 2 Basel (Mount Rigi)On your second day, join our excursion to Mount Rigi, the so-called Queen of the Mountains. Following a coach ride to Arth-Goldau, hop aboard the cogwheel train for a journey to the top of Rigi Kulm, the highest peak in the massif. Enjoy gloriously sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and lakes, before taking the cogwheel train down to Vitznau to join a relaxing steamboat cruise across scenic Lake Lucerne. Following free time in the beautiful medieval city of Lucerne, we return to our ship and set sail for Breisach, Germany. Day 3 BreisachChoose our optional excursion to explore the beautiful and peaceful Lake Titisee on a cruise, followed by spare time to explore for yourself. Or enjoy a relaxing day pottering around the pretty, pastel-hued town of Breisach. Day 4 StrasbourgHaving arrived at Strasbourg in the early hours, well take an excursion around this fascinating Alsatian city, home to the European Parliament, a magnificent Gothic cathedral and a UNESCO-listed Old Town. Our tour includes a canal cruise around the historic waterways of Petite France, where picturesque half-timbered buildings line the way. You have the rest of the day to enjoy Strasbourg at leisure. Day 5 SpeyerFollowing an early morning arrival at Speyer, you can join an optional tour of this delightfully walkable town, including a visit to the impressive UNESCO World Heritage-listed Romanesque cathedral, a worthy mausoleum for several of Germanys emperors and kings. Before we set sail later this afternoon, there is time to discover more of the citys legacies. Day 6 Lorelei Passage – KoblenzWe set sail for the interesting gateway city of Koblenz, via the Lorelei Passage, a slate formation shrouded in legend, which naturally shapes the twists of the beautiful Rhine Gorge. In the afternoon, join us for a tour of Koblenz and visit to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, which stands guard over the city and rivers below. Day 7 Bonn – CologneAwake in Bonn, and spend the morning on a guided walking tour of the citys main sights including the Beethoven monument, cathedral, the baroque City Hall. Well also stop outside Beethovens birthplace – now a museum and chamber music hall. This afternoon, well arrive in the architecturally magnificent city of Cologne. Join an optional walking tour to uncover its treasures. |
