Across the mountain ranges in India, there’s a whole different world waiting to be explored under your hiking boots. Hike among tiny villages, walk through remote valleys and marvel at isolated Buddhist monasteries high up in the cliffs. Even though you haven’t left India, trekking through this unique tapestry of colours and cultures will make you feel that you’ve been transported to another world.

Day 1
Delhi
Arrive at any time.
Day 2
DelhiLeh
Morning transfer to Delhi airport. Fly to Leh and enjoy the rest of the day free to explore.
Day 3
Leh
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing. Visit the Buddhist monasteries of Shey and Thikse. Enjoy the spectacular views across the Zanskar range.
Day 4
LehZinchan
Drive to Spituk Gompa. Explore the monastery, then begin the hike to Zingchen. The hike gradually ascends and passes through deep gorges on the way.
Day 5
ZinchanGanda La
Enjoy a full day hiking. Head for Ganda La today, with the peak of Stok Kangri looming overhead.
Day 6
Ganda LaSkiu
Spend a full day trekking from Ganda La Base Camp to Skiu, including the ascent of Ganda La (4,950m16,240 ft). The views from the pass include the entire Zanskar range below.
Day 7
SkiuMarkha
Take a full day to hike from Skiu to Markha with more breathtaking views.
Day 8
MarkhaThachungtse
Continue on from Markha to Thachungtse during another full day of hiking.
Day 9
ThachungtseNimaling
Spend the day hiking from Thachungtse along the Nimaling stream.
Day 10
NimalingShangsumdo
Hike to Shangsumdo via Kongmaru La (5,150m16,896 ft). This is the highest point of the trek and a challenging full day of hiking. Breathe in the thin air and soak in the stunning views.
Day 11
ShangsumdoLeh
Enjoy a short trek in the morning before leaving Shangsumdo. Catch a well-earned ride for the last section of the journey back to Leh.
Day 12
Leh
Take a day to relax and enjoy the sights around Leh. Absorb the culture at Hemis Monastery, once the richest and largest in the region. Visit Stok Palace and learn more about the history of the area.
Day 13
LehDelhi
Fly back to Delhi and make the most of the city with free time in the afternoon.
