ItineraryDay 1 UK – NantesTitan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Nantes. On arrival we transfer to embark MS Loire Princesse (3.5-star) in Nantes. Day 2 Nantes – Saint-NazaireNantes still shows signs of its former status as the capital of Brittany. The medieval quarter, the magnificent Château des ducs de Bretagne and one of the tallest cathedrals of France, all tell a little of the city’s history. You can learn more about them on an optional tour. Day 3 AncenisEnjoy the scenery as we sail to Ancenis, a town built on an island, surrounded by vineyards, and countryside beyond. This afternoon, take the opportunity to follow the wine route through the muscadet region, pausing at history filled vineyards to savour samples of aromatic wines. The excursion is completed with a stop at Clisson, a charming medieval city with 15th-century ruins and an Italian flair. Alternatively, soar over the Loire in a helicopter for views over Ancenis, its hills and castle, the 14th-century tower in Oudon, the Château de Clermont and more. Day 4 BouchemaineAfter a gentle morning of cruising, we reach Bouchemaine. From here, you have the opportunity to visit Château de Brissac, a monumental royal residence. After visiting some of the 204 rooms and breathtaking Belle Époque theatre, you can stroll amongst centuries-old trees in the surrounding park, and sample wine in the castle cellars. Day 5 Bouchemaine – AncenisWe spend today exploring beautiful castles in the Loire Valley. Château d’Azay-le-Rideau is a vision of refinement; a medieval and Italian Renaissance monument surrounded by the Indre River. The elegant Château de Villandry, unrestricted by water, is spread over a wider area, with stunning Renaissance gardens. Our third is Château d’Ussé.
